My Current Top 3 Superfoods

Feb 15, 2019

Feeling good is all about mind body and soul. When your body feels good your mind is clear and your soul feels happy.

To help your body feel it's very best, try to incorporate superfoods into your diet. Turns out that eating these foods are a very important secret to extreme health.

Superfoods are nutrient powerhouses that pack large doses of

  • antioxidants

  • polyphenols

  • vitamins, and minerals

Eating them may reduce the risk of chronic disease, and prolong life, and people who eat more of them are healthier and thinner than those who don't.

Yes please!!

Here are 3 of my current faves and how I incorporate them into my daily diet.

These tiny seeds have 8 times more omega-3 than salmon, 6 times more calcium than milk, 3 times more iron than spinach, 15 more magnesium than broccoli and are a complete protein with 6 times more than kidney beans! They provide long lasting energy, support digestion and cleanse the colon.

I dump a heaping teaspoon of chia into a large glass of water every morning and stir vigorously. Then I drink my chia water throughout the day for sustained energy. As the seeds absorb the water they transform into little orbs of gel. Because they are similar to tapioca, they make a great pudding too.

Maca root has been used by indigenous Andean people as a source of nourishment and healing for thousands of years. Four alkaloids in maca nourish the endocrine system.

It’s properties:

  • increases stamina

  • boosts libido

  • combats fatigue

Sounds good to me!

This nutrient dense food is packed with vitamins, essential minerals and amino acids.

I sprinkle a scoop into my soups or over granola. Often I add a scoop of maca powder to my smoothies and shakes, along with flax meal, blueberries, almond milk and protein powder.

Breakfast on the go.

This is actually a raw superfood complex. It is my current favorite “green” drink because it’s SO EASY. Mix in water and drink. It actually tastes good.

It’s packed with organic sea veggies, grasses, fruits, herbs, antioxidants and digestive enzymes. There is so much great stuff in 1 tablespoon, from goji to ginger, milk thistle seed to mushrooms, that I can’t believe it tastes so good!

I like quick and easy, so the first thing in the morning I pour a big glass of purified water, stir in a spoonful of Athletic Greens and drink it, visualizing a great day ahead.

Not all food is created equal. Why choose regular food when you could be choosing superfood instead?
